Pruning

Our pruning service allows each client the opportunity to choose the desired level of service that will meet his or her own expectations. However, our staff will provide recommendations to assist each homeowner in choosing the appropriate level of service based on horticultural need.

We generally recommend a minimum of two pruning services annually. Our Winter Structural Pruning, which is typically performed during the period of early December through early March, allows an opportunity to remove excessive growth, crossing branches, dieback, and generally thin out the plant in an effort to promote and allow new growth in the spring.

Additional pruning services can be provided multiple times throughout the growing season and are generally performed anytime from May through September. Seasonal pruning is necessary to remove excessive growth. Also, plants that flower on old wood (i.e. Azaleas) will need to be pruned after they flower to facilitate new buds for the following season.
